A Christmas Carol is a classic story about a man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who embarks on a journey exploring all facets of his past, present, and future life. Scrooge goes through a tremendous transformation that ends up saving his life. Scrooge begins the story as a person who does not believe in the Christmas spirit and ends up having as much or more than everyone else.

tale, there is an underlying theme which is present in a major portion of the story. The theme can be worded in many ways. The course of which a man embarks his life on will foreshadow his fate. Men who cut themselves off from human sentiment, warmth, fellow-feeling and love chain themselves with iron chains and doom themselves to a spiritual death. Scrooge is given a second chance and we all deserve a second chance.
