…showed last 75 words of 660 total…abhorrence toward Jennie as well. So, "Jane" may have been Gilman's error when she said, "...In spite of you and Jane," in which she really meant to say Jennie. I like the way the ending statements of the story are a bit dubious and mystifying. Whether "Jane" is the narrator, the lady in the wallpaper, or Jennie, I think the conclusion was very successful and effective. However, the question will still remain: who is Jane?
