Wolof People <Tab/>The large tribe of the Wolof lives mainly in Senegal and Gambia. They speak Wolof and for the most part are Islamic. The first known documentation of the Wolof dates back to 1455. It is of Senegalese origin and was founded in the late 1800's by Amadou Bamba Mbacke. He is considered half God and also a liberation hero. The most important event of Mouridism is the annual pilgrimage where Bamba is buried. The mosque of his burial is the largest in Senegal and one of the largest in the world. Nick Cappy
