In the Miller's Tale by Geoffrey Chaucer, one of the character that I found interesting is Nicholas. He was the student of a rich old carpenter named John. The carpenter happened to marry to a young woman named Alison who had an affair with Nicholas. Nicholas was described as a smart young man but a very cunning character. not being honest to himself and the Lord Bercilak. He wanted to use the green belt in order to protect himself from the Green Knight. He only thought of himself that made him a human. Sir Gawain still had fears of losing his life in the challenge. This showed that although Sir Gawain was trying to be the perfect knight, he was just a normal person who still made mistakes, and sometimes could be dishonest.
