Democracy's roots can be traced as far back in history as the fifth century BC in the Grecian City State of Athens. The people of Athens had developed many aspects of government taht would later be implemented in the formation of American government. It is quite obvious taht the founding fathers looked to Athens when creating our own government. Athens' devotion to the public good as well as the sharing of political authority and the the choosing of representatives must have seemed very appwaling after the tyrannical rule of Great Britain.
