After WWII Russia and the US became embroiled in a bitter arms race that was to last for decades. In conclusion the cold war and the arms race reflects badly on human nature and doesn't say much for humanity if we are willing to spend billions of dollars on weaponry to try and make life miserable for others instead of trying to improve the quality of life for all.
