Introduction
Did you ever wonder which mayor impacted the Chicago River? Fact is, all of them did, but none of them directly took care of the river. That was left to the companies and industries. In the beginning of the nineteenth century, Fort Dearborn was built at the mouth of the Chicago River. Early Chicagoans used the river for all their supplies and their daily needs, including washing, fishing, and drinking of course. In 1833, four

River's problems on its feet, and that does show the responsibility that a mayor is supposed to answer have when he is elected into office. And since every mayor was around during the development of the Chicago River, they were all part of the advancements, and regrettably is downslides. That nevertheless exposes my point that the Mayors had a great effect, good or bad, on our river and in turn the whole city of Chicago.
