The storyline is very real to the viewers, and maybe that's because some of them have been in a similar situation. If anyone thought the story of Paradise Lost was gone forever, look again! The movie doesn't really give us a reason for anything, but it doesn't lecture its viewers either. It understands, and so do we . . . in some unexplainable way.
