He died on April 23, 1616 at the age of fifty-two. While the cause of Ahakespeare's death is not known, people believe that Shakespeare knew he was dying. In 1623, some of Shakespeare's friends published his first folio. It included 154 sonnets, 37 plays, and 2 long poems. Many of Shakespeare's plays became famous and still are today.
