Throughout the course of Macbeth, Shakespeare uses many metaphors to give the reader a better understanding of the play. The give us clues as to what is going on in the play without actually telling us. This metaphor does a good job of this by showing us that although the weeds may take over the garden and the good plants, in the end the good will finally rule over evil and the good plants will reign supreme.
