INTRODUCTION
In Pakistan there are an estimated 28 million smokers at present. If each smoker spends just Rs. 20 per day Rs. 560 million are wasted in smoking cigarettes. In addition several billion rupees are spent by people on the treatment of smoking related diseases every year. Thus, the economics loss to the country as a result of tobacco use is huge.

Conclusion
Tobacco is killing people at an unprecedented scale yet there is a complete silence on this important public health issue in Pakistan. It is the moral responsibility of all of us to control this rising epidemic in our country. Our children and grandchildren will question us if we do not act against this biggest killer. There is a need to spread the message in the society that 'SMOKING KILLS'
