The inevitability of a sequel to The Matrix grew out of its unexpected and quite phenomenal success at the box office. The trouble with all sequels is, howefver, whether the orginal idea was exhausted in the first film. …showed last 75 words of 472 total…we all know that The Matrix Revolutions is due out later this year and that if the story resolves now, what would be the point? So be prepared for a The Empire Strikes Back end to the film but don't complain. THe filmmakers have here demonstrated that they can develop both the story and the characters further, so while it may be an illusion, I will choose to anticipate how all this will wind up.
