As stated above, war has many by-products or effects. Whether it being on families, children, or towns, war is bad! As Tim stated in the book, there must be better ways to achieve something without war. The novel demonstrated this very well. The novel was trying to make a point about the effects of war throughout the whole book. It makes a strong statement of it, too.
