Possibly the most well known civil rights activity took place in August of 1963, when Dr. Martin Luther King along with Civil rights leaders from across the country organized a march in Washington DC. It was used to encourage congress to pass the bill that president Kennedy had created. To make our society safer, everyone can and must pitch in—teachers, parents, students, law enforcement officers, business managers, faith leaders, civic leaders, youth workers, and other concerned community residents. Each of us can do something to help solve the problem of violence. And it's a problem we all must solve.
