The issue over the separation of church and state is ever present in today's society. Much of the controversy stems from the First Amendment which guarantees our most basic rights--freedom of religion, press, speech, and assembly. Some argue that anything, whether it be an object or phrase, should be removed from the pubic scene if it portrays religion. With the federal government funding relatively everything today, one can litigate almost anything in regards to "state-sponsored religion." The question some are asking now is where will this stop? In the end, I agree with those who favor the non-separation of church and state, and the people who wish to express their religious views around the world.
