In the movie Awakenings, a psychiatrist takes an interest in the patients that are in a statue-esque state. If you were to have a severe disability, it would be the small things in life that you would miss, watching the sunrise and sunset, having the open road at your disposal, and just being able to make your own decisions. We take these things for granted because we have full access to it, maybe it really is healthy to stop and smell the roses once and a while.
