Andrew Carnegie was born in Scotland in 1835. He was the son of a weaver and a radical political figure. After power looms began to replace hand weaving the family decide it was time to move. His father taught Carnegie of political and economic equality. Then, when he moved to American in 1848, he was determined to change his family's social standing. They were able to come

The Carnegie Corporation of New York provides funds to educational institutions and to organizations that conduct research on educational and public affairs. By the time of his death in 1919 he had given away over three hundred fifty thousand dollars. Which is more than three billion today.
