Although we have come a long way from the days of slavery, racial equality is still far from prevalent in American society. Some people still have a hard time accepting people of other races as "true Americans" and stereotypes which reduce people to the color of their skin still remain in people's minds. …showed last 75 words of 1228 total…order to instill a respect for all people into children while they are young. It's a wonderful notion, however it doesn't do any good when it's still in the conceptual stages and nothing is being done to speed its implementation. How long are we going to have to wait until everyone is finally on equal terms with one another? Given the state that the world is in today, we are still a long way off.
